NOTE THAT ONLY PCs CONNECTED VIA ETHERNET CABLE CAN BE WOKEN UP. There is no way to wake up any other computer using wireless networks. Also, only sleeping PCs can be woken up, not switched off ones.

To enable WakeOnLan on Windows XP, select “Start”, then “Control Panel”, then “Network Connections”. Right click on the LAN interface, then select “Properties”. In the connection properties window, click “Configure...”:

In the following window, select “Power Management”, then enable both “Allow this device to bring the computer out of standby”, and “Only allow management stations to bring the computer out of standby”:

Note that you need to tell WakeUp the Mac’s “Ethernet ID” (also called “MAC Address”) in order to enable WakeOnLan. WakeUp will auto-discover this address when you use its “Scan” feature. Else, get the address in “Network Connection”, double click on LAN interface, select “Support” then “Details...”. The Ethernet ID will be shown as “Physical Address”.
